This weekend was heart-warming and heart-breaking: filled with boundless love and joy, new friends, but also filled with sadness and anger. My friend and fellow bicycle advocate was killed by a driver while riding his bike on Friday, and if I'm honest with you, I don't really know how to deal with it. ⁣ 🚲Today was tough. I cried at work more times than I'd like to admit. I don't talk about my day job much here, but every time I call it my "day job" I cringe a little because that title doesn't quite fit. I'm grateful to be equally passionate about my work as a civil engineer and bicycle advocate as I am about photography. For all the evenings and weekends I spend capturing people and their love stories, I spend as many days designing streets for people to move, walk, scoot, bike, or drive on so they can make it home to those loved ones safely. I find joy in knowing that I'll leave the world a little better than I've found it. But today, it just doesn't feel like enough.

We're in the final countdown! ONE week until the dreaded PE exam (a hellacious 8-hour professional exam I'm clearly excited about) and TWO WEEKS until me and my boo are landing in ICELAND!! (Thankfully, no we're not flying WOW... Phew.) It's going to be a doozy of a couple of weeks and I keep having nightmares about random test questions that clearly won't be on the exam (like which paint color to select from 4 shades of blue that look the same.... I need to learn to compartmentalize.) Anyone else get major anxiety dreams? Send help!
