When I first met Laura and Eric in a coffee shop back in June, they told me they planned to hike to their venue on the Appalachian Trail in the week leading up to their wedding day. Swapping out the hectic feelings of the lead up to a wedding by backpacking through Shenandoah National Park in Virginia felt so perfect for this adventurous duo.
Nestled along Skyline Drive, Laura and Eric chose Skyland Resort for their intimate Virginia wedding to share the overlooks and beautiful vistas with their families. But on the big day, Mother Nature had other plans. Skyline Drive was cloaked in some of the thickest fog I’ve ever experienced.
Fortunately, our adventurous couple was more than ready for the moment. That thick fog that blocked the beautiful views instead became the stunning backdrop for some absolutely stunning etherial portraits, where bride and groom hiked right back to the trail, dress and suit and all. It was a privilege to capture some of this foggy forest MAGIC for Laura and Eric to treasure forever. Thank you for letting me capture your beautiful wedding day.
